Synopsis and Plot Summary
A story revolving around a missing child case and a father desperate for any traces of his son.
During a cold winter night in the year 2004. a young shepherd was herding sheep alone in the mountains. He passes dips his feet in a nearby stream and stares into the distance. Two days later, Zhang Bao Min (Song Yang) who works as a miner hurriedly returns home after hearing the news that his son is missing. Three days later, lawyer Xu Wen Jie's (Yuan Wenkang) daughter has also gone missing, so he picks up the phone to contact the only possible suspect that he can think of. Chang Wan Nian (Jiang Wu) is a man who has a wide range of connections and the three people who would otherwise have nothing to do with each other come to realize that their lives are already intertwined.

- In one of the scenes where his character was stumbling down a mountain, Song Yang didn't use a stunt double and ended up having to with ten stitches after injuring his eye.
