Synopsis and Plot Summary
A story set from the 1960's to the 1990's about the life of the people inside an Old Beijing courtyard.
He Yu Zhu (He Bing) is a cook who works at a steel factory cafeteria. He has a good heart but has a mouth with no filter. In the same siheyuan lives a factory worker named Qin Huai Ru (Hao Lei) who is a widow raising a son and two daughters on her own. There's also Xu Da Mao (Hai Yi Tian), a selfish man who's always at odds with He Yu Zhu as well as three respected elderly workers referred to as the three 'da ye'.
