Synopsis and Plot Summary

A story revolving around the Fire God, the Wind God and the ensuing romance between them as they risk their lives for the sake of their homeland.

A thousand years ago, there were a collection of stars in the universe that was breathtaking in grandeur. Fire God Zhong Tian (Chen Bolin), Wind God Qian Mei (Jing Tian) and the other six gods are the keepers of peace under the leadership of Shan Xuan. During a dangerous battle with dark forces, the deities suffer a great loss. Qian Mei goes missing after sacrificing herself to save Zhong Tian. In order to find an alternate energy source to save their home, Zhong Tian travels to the glorious age of Tang Dynasty where he meets a person who looks exactly like his long-lost love, thus igniting a complicated romance between the two. The heart-wrenching love story continues with the domineering CEO Lin Ye (Chen Bolin). He is a young and accomplished scientist inspired by the legend of the Fire God. He gathers a group of like-minded individuals to build a green company that concentrates on environmental efforts. A reporter named Nuo Feng (Jing Tian) meets him during an interview and their relationship grows from an initial misunderstanding. Just as they have started coordinating their work in research and public relations, Lin Ye's old friend Di Yun (Sun Shaolong) appears and becomes a ruthless rival in business.

• Filming took place in Yinchuan, Xiangshan, Hanzhou and Bingdao.
• The story according to the manhua takes place across three different timelines from the time when the characters were gods to the time they were in the Tang Dynasty and then in the modern day.
• It was a bestselling comic during the early 90's that continued to enjoy widespread popularity when it entered the Chinese market in 2004.
• It is the first collaboration between Jing Tian and Chen Bolin.
• Filming for part one wrapped in August 2017 and was immediately succeeded with filming for the sequel.
• The series is split into two seasons, the first part 火王之破曉之戰 with 28 episodes takes place in the past and the second part 火王之千里同風 with 33 episodes takes place in the present.
• Filming for season 2 began on August 31, 2017 and ended on November 8, 2017.
• The King of Blaze 2 is Jing Tian's first modern drama. She cut her long hair for a shorter, playful hairstyle.
