Legend of the Naga Pearls

A thief, a constable and a prince as they embark on an adventure to search for the Naga Pearl.

It tells the story of a witty thief named Ni Kong Kong (Darren Wang), a hardworking constable named Hei Yu (Crystal Zhang) and a down-to-earth prince (Sheng Guan Sen). Each of them are motivated by their own reasons but a chance encounter brings the unlikely group together and in spite of their initial distrust for each other, they learn to work together to stop a greater evil. It's the traditional adventure story set in the vast world of Novoland, and it explores the complicated relationship between the winged tribe and the human tribe and highlights how trust, friendship and teamwork can trump differences. • It is produced by Shanghai Film Group.
• Filming took place in Hengdian World Studios.
• Filming lasted around five months from March to August 2016.
• For the sake of the film, Darren Wang went for training under renowned martial arts choreographer Gu Xuan Zhao.
• Crystal Zhang fulfilled her dream to be a martial arts heroine as she had quite a lot of action scenes.
• Simon Yam loss 20 pounds for the role.
• The production team hired the special effects team who worked on the Pirates of the Caribbean movie.
• In the movie, the main character's pet and weapon are computer generated and created by the same company who conceptualized Hu Ba in Monster Hunt.
• There is a scene where Crystal Zhang had to carry Darren Wang and the two had a tough time filming the scene. They also had to be tied to each other while doing wirework.
