A comedy revolving around a modern-day woman who time travels to the ancient times and becomes the wife of the 8th Prince, thus starting a romance that begins from a lack of trust and develops into a beautiful romance.
Qu Tan Er (Liang Jie) is the illegitimate daughter of a powerful minister. Despite being in love with the eldest prince (Wang Ruichang), she is forced into an arranged marriage with the 8th Prince (Xing Zhaolin) for political reasons. After failing to commit suicide for the sake of love, an inexplicable force causes a change in her personality to be that of someone else. Sometimes she is kind and gentle while at other times, she is uninhibited and uncouth.
Qu Tan Er marries the 8th Prince but invites his suspicions due to her association with the Eldest Prince. Nonetheless, their relationship grows in time, but there's a side to Qu Tan Er who remains loyal to the eldest Prince and plots to help him take the throne.
Fun Facts
- It is produced by Tencent Penguin Pictures and Yuzhou Ying Shi.
- Filming took place in Hengdian World Studios.
- Before filming began, the cast spent three months to review the script, learn proper etiquette and action choreography.
- During a scene where Tan Er had to seduce the 8th Prince, the Director personally demonstrated how to dance seductively first.
- Translation from the novel, “This King says one, you can’t reply two.” In that case she would reply three. Nothing troublesome. “This King wants you go to east, you can’t go to west.“ “Yes.“ She docilely nodded. If she couldn’t go to east and west, going to south and north were also pretty good options. It was not a big deal. (Source: DramaPanda)
