Synopsis and Plot Summary

The story is about the battle of talents of a Cantonese chef and a Michelin-starred chef and the progression of their relationship after starting out as rivals.

Gao TianCi (Nicholas Tse) was born into a family of chefs. As a child, he was already very interested in cooking but his father thought that he had no talent and leaves him at a young age. He ends up living with his culinary master, Hong Qi (Ge You). After growing up, he opens a store with Hai DanMei (Tang Yan) where he works as the head chef.

A Michelin-starred chef (Jung Yong-hwa) decides to challenge Gao TianCi. The survival of their store, the name of Chinese cuisine, and the true reason why his father left, all revolve around the title "god of cookery."

It is produced and distributed by Emperor Group.
In the movie, Tang Yan spends a lot of her time explaining the dishes. She said that she tried to remember the steps so that she can try them at home.
Nicholas Tse had to showcase over 20 dishes from all over the world such as Chinese, French, Italian and Indian cuisine. He did all the cooking in the movie and even flew to Tokyo to learn how to make sushi.
