Synopsis and Plot Summary

A story that follows a hardcore DMMORPG gamer who accidentally gets transported into the game that he's been playing for ten years.

Qin Zhan (Kenny Kwan) has devoted his life to playing the New Demi-Gods and Semi-Devils, but the game has outlived its relevance and its servers are about to be shutdown. He also realizes that every one of his gaming friends have moved on with their lives. One day, Qin Zhan finds himself stuck inside the game complete with the powers that he's worked so hard to level up.

He is elated at being an OP (overpowered) player but he is puzzled by the turn of events. He also ends up becoming the public enemy number one as a string of conspiracies threaten his existence. Together with his four loyal subordinates, Qin Zhan embarks on an adventure where he meets his disciple Li Qingxue (Li Nuo) and the mysterious Yu Chen (Sun Xuening) who seems to be neither friend nor foe.

It is very similar to Overlord, a Japanese light novel series that was adapted into manga and anime.
Four 4 months, the script went through 18 revisions before being finalized.
Filming lasted 60 days beginning on June 12, 2017 in Hengdian World Studios.
Three months were spent for special effects.
