Synopsis and Plot Summary
Zhang Xiao Fan leaves Qing Yun and switches allegiance to Gui Wang to become Gui Li. In order to save Bi Yao, he searches high and low hoping for a cure that will bring her back to life.
More than ten years have passed and even though Xiao Fan has exhausted all options, he hasn't found a way to bring Bi Yao back. At the same time, Gui Wang urges Xiao Fan to wake the beast god for his own gain. At the behest of Gui Wang, Zhang Xiao Fan puts himself in danger time and again for the sake of Bi Yao without knowing that Gui Wang actually plans to access the power of the beast god to hasten his plans to conquer the world. Meanwhile, the forces of good have sent their disciples to stop it from happening. Gui Li crosses paths with his old friends Lin Jingyu, Zeng Shu Shu and Lu Xue Qi where their friendship will be tested once more.

- It is produced by H&R Century Pictures which featured many of their own talents in the cast.
- Li Yi Feng first rose to fame in the fantasy wuxia Sword of Legends which is why many anticipated his return to the genre.
- Filming took place in Zhejiang, Hunan, Jiangxi, Yunnan, Guangxi, Henan, Fu Jian and many other locations.
- Season 1 and 2 were filmed continuously and split into two seasons on purpose, which is a trend that seems to be catching on when it comes to newer dramas.
- The show first broadcasted on December 8, 2017 as a webdrama on Tencent QQ. It later secured a television broadcast beginning March 2, 2017 on Beijing TV.
