Synopsis and Plot Summary
A story that revolves around thousands of years of love and hate between the white snake and the medicine master.
Medicinal master Xu Xuan (Ren Jialun) and his martial arts junior Leng Ning (He Dujuan) are healers. On the day of the peach blossom festival, Xu Xuan crosses paths with Bai Yaoyao (Yang Zi) and they fall in love. However, an incident causes Bai Yaoyao to steal the immortal grass to save Xu Xuan which earns the wrath of the heavens. After his recovery, Xu Xuan starts on a journey to save Bai Yaoyao.

- Filming took place in Hengdian World Studios.
- Ren Jialun spent his birthday on set and received a birthday cake from the cast and crew.
- Mao Zijun's role as Fa Hai required him to be bald and he had to go through 3 hours of makeup each day to achieve the intended effect.
- Legend of the White Snake is one of China's Four Great Folktales.
- While the story of White Snake has been popularized many times on television including a famous 1990's TV series, this is not a straight up remake due to the characters and names being slightly different.
- Angie Chiu who played the titular white snake in the 1990's guest stars as the Holy Mother of Mount Li who is also the heroine's teacher.
- Hong Kong movie star Carina Lau also makes a guest appearance as the mother of the West King.
