Synopsis and Plot Summary

A story about the adventures of three tomb raiders Hu Bayi, Shirley, and Wang Pangzi who trek the sands of Taklamakan Desert in search of the mysterious “ghost cave”.

After traversing different places, Hu Bayi (Jin Dong) settles down in a camp along the borders of China and Mongolia. He brings with him a book that has been passed down in his family for generations – ‘16 Words Yin Yang Fengshui Secret Techniques’. He has memorized every word of the book due to his habit of reading it to pass time.

Soon after, Hu Bayi goes to Tibet to join the army and encounters an avalanche. He uses the secret techniques he learned from the book to escape certain death. Another journey takes Hu Bayi, his friend Wang Pangzi (Zhao Da) and Shirley (Joe Chen) to Xinjiang as part of an archaeological expedition. As the team navigates the dangers within the ancient tombs, they have the nagging feeling that someone who knows their every move has been controlling their fate.
