Synopsis and Plot Summary

A story that follows the students of Super Star Academy, a school where people's powers are based on their astrological signs. Ordinary student Cheng Zhi'er gains entry into the exclusive school through a scholarship and gets introduced to a world where the powerful reign.

The Fang family is the most powerful clan in a parallel world ruled by the 12 astrological signs. However, its line of succession faces its biggest threat. The head of the clan is at his deathbed and his wife is desperate to stay in power. Eighteen years later, Fang Tianze (Xiao Zhan) rules the school as the successor of the Fang family. He immediately clashes with Cheng Zhi'er (Uvin Wang), a transfer student who stumbles into his life. She has been looking for someone from her past, but a mistake causes her to be bullied by her peers. The mild-mannered Wan Shicun (Bai Shu) shields her at every turn even as they become participants of the super star competition. Without realizing it, Cheng Zhi'er starts falling for Fang Tianze.

It introduces the boys of the survival show X FIRE. Filming took place in Hangzhou, Zhejiang province.
Filming lasted two months from April 15, 2016 to June 13, 2016.
Except for Bai Shu and Guo Zifan, it was Wu Jiacheng, Xiao Zhan, Peng Chuyue, Jason Koo, Zhao Lei and Emn Chen's acting debut. They took acting classes to prepare for filming.
Because it was the first time acting for many of the cast members, the director tried to let the actors play characters that are closer to them in real life so that they can be themselves. To help the cast immerse into their roles, the director would often personally act out the scenes first.
Peng Chuyue was often laughed at because he easily forgets lines. As a result, he worked hard to memorize the script.
Guo Zifan's character Zhou Dong is inspired by singer Jay Chou. 70% of his lines were taken from lyrics of Jay Chou's songs. Emn Chen often had bloopers while practicing but he tried hard to overcome it when filming.
Zhao Lei reveals that he was attracted to the character he played and was happy that it was similar to himself.
Xiao Zhan had many action scenes that he had to do himself. The scene that had the most stunts took over 10 hours to film which completely tired out the actor.
Wu Jiacheng revealed that getting his lines right was the biggest challenge for him due to his Guangdong accent.
Wu Jiacheng missed taking his graduation photos because of the drama though he was able to take leave to take care of matters pertaining to his graduation later on.
Leading lady Wang Yuwen spent the birthday on set. The cast and crew set aside some time to celebrate with her. Afterwards, they continued filming until 8am the next morning. The director joked that filming through the night was their gift for Wang Yuwen's 19th' birthday.
Bai Shu injured his arm and leg during his character's final scene.
It hit 600 million views 1 month after its release on Tencent.
