Synopsis and Plot Summary
A beautiful and heart-wrenching story that follows three lifetimes of romance between the fox regent of Qing Qiu and the Heavenly Prince of Jiu Chong.
In spite of their victory, the immortal tribes pays a high price after meeting Qing Cang and his army of ghost warriors in a deadly battle. Yehua (Yehua) who is a prince and grandson of the reigning Emperor of Jiu Chong was born in the same year. Seventy thousand years later, Qing Cang attempts to escape from the seal which causes Bai Qian (Yang Mi) to sacrifice herself in order to stop him.
Bai Qian loses her powers and falls to the human realm with no recollection of the past. A chance encounter brings her face to face with Yehua and the two fall into a romance yet it is forbidden for someone of Yehua's status as a god to be with an ordinary human like Su Su, making their love a difficult one.
When Bai Qian finally regains her powers and memories but has chosen to forget her past with Yehua, they meet again at a wedding in the Eastern Sea, betrothed to each other as part of a political alliance to unite their kingdoms.

Fun Facts
- It is directed by Lam Yuk Fan whose other works include Scarlet Heart, Journey of Flower, Just One Smile is Very Alluring and Lost Love in Times. Filming lasted around four months from February 2016 to May 2016.
- Filming took place in Xiangshan Movie & Television Town and Yunnan.
- It had 7 main locations, 300 scenes and 50,000 square meters. Around 80% of the sets were built with the biggest one likely to be Kun Lun Xu.
- It had 130 character concepts and 1,400 costumes designed by Oscar-winner William Chang Suk Ping.
- Although there was more anticipation on the film adaptation starring Crystal Liu and Yang Yang which aired later in the same year, the drama became a commercial success while the movie didn't do well in the box office. Netizens even came up with the taglines, "After Yang Mi/Mark Chao, there is no more Bai Qian/Yehua."
- It is the first collaboration between Yang Mi and Mark Chao.
- The novel is told from the POV of Bai Qian as she recalls her past after waking up from a long sleep but the drama didn't follow the same order. That aside, the drama is quite faithful to the novel down to the ending when Yehua says, 'Bai Qian, come here."
- There were plagiarism allegations against author Tang Qi saying that she copied the work from a BL-novel by Da Feng.
- Aside from Mark Chao, majority of the cast that included Dilraba Dilmurat, Vengo Gao, Vin Zhang, Maggie Huang, Zhu Xu Dan and Liu Rui Lin are talents of Jaywalk Studio, a company partially owned by Yang Mi.
- Yang Mi revealed that in order to get into character, she really drank alcohol while filming. She also shared that she's very much like Bai Qian since she is stubborn, gets lost easily and really likes drinking. She also has a daughter of her own that's nicknamed Little Rice Ball. The nickname Tuan Zi for Ah Li is the same as the nickname used in the novel.
- In spite of their amazing chemistry on and off set, Yang Mi and Mark Chao are married to their respective spouses. Both of them are examples of reel-to-real couples as Yang Mi got together with Hawick Lau after filming a drama and Mark Chao got together with Gao Yuan Yuan after filming a movie together.
- Yang Mi adopted the cat that her character Su Su brought home and Mark Chao named it Shi Xiong aka Martial Arts Senior.
- Mark Chao was described as an actor with plastic surgery acting skills because of his superior acting talent that had everyone convinced that he was perfect for the role. This was after initial complaints that he wasn't good looking enough to play Yehua. Mark Chao jokingly said, "Actually, in the beginning, Director complained that I was ugly, then unexpectedly, the longer she looked the better it looked so filming carried on. There was supposed to be a one-month trial, luckily I passed."
- Due to the drama's large fanbase, many were excited when Yang Mi and Mark Chao were reunited twice on separate occasions, both of which were for a Michael Kors event especially as Yang Mi is an official ambassador for the brand.
- Hummer Zhang who plays Ah Li was only 5 when he filmed the drama. During the iQiYi Scream Night 2018 which was held in December 2017, Hummer Zhang dressed as Ah Li as he gave the award of Drama Actress of the Year to Yang Mi.
