Synopsis and Plot Summary
A story of a family that lives in the rural villages during the Sino-Japanese war.
During the 1930's, Jiu Er (Zhou Xun) is a young girl who is sold by her money-hungry father to the Dan family. Yu Zhan Ao (Zhu Ya Wen) is a man made of brute force and he kills the unscrupulous Dan father and son for the sake of Jiu Er, thus igniting a moving story about romance, family and country.
