Synopsis and Plot Summary
It narrates the generations of war between the Ice clan and Fire clan.
When the second prince of the Fire clan was murdered during the party of prince KaSuo (Feng ShaoFeng) of the Ice clan, the Fire King waged a war. Prince KaSuo's whole family was killed, and the only ones that survived were Kasuo and his younger brother Ying KongShi (Ma Tianyu). They escaped to the human realm and asked help from LiLuo (Victoria Song) as they embark on a journey to regain their former home.
Kasuo ends up losing his powers along the way and Ying KongShi becomes the new king. In order to help KaSuo regain his powers, LiLuo makes a deal with another god and in turn becomes a beast. However, LiLuo and Ying KongShi both die because of YuanJi. With renewed determination, Kasuo seeks the lotus to resurrect them and the war between the Fire clan and the Ice clan resumes.

Fun Facts
- It is produced by Shanghai Youhug Media Co. Ltd.
- Filming took place in Shanghai, Inner Mongolia and Hebei.
- Filming lasted around six months beginning August 16, 2015 and ending February 2, 2016.
- Guo Jingming who wrote the source novel was only 20 years old when the novel was published in 2003. Victoria Song said that she was a fan growing up.
- Dan Hennah who won an Oscar for Lord of the Rings was responsible for production design that was ambitious in its vision as it seeked to create a story that is completely high fantasy.
- The production team spent over RMB 3 hundred million, constructing six main filming locations and hiring 300 cast members and 30,000 extras. They also spared no expense on props and costumes with 937 weapons, 1370 costumes and 6000 pieces of props.
- Korean actress Kim Hee Sun joins the cast as a Concubine of the King and the mother of Ying Kong Shi played by Ma Tianyu. Both has many scenes together and they had to speak Chinese and Korean respectively while running lines though it didn't create any trouble for them on the set.
- Jackie Chan who acted in The Myth with Kim Hee Sun visited her while she was filming and brought a lot of food for everyone on the set.
- Victoria Song and Zhang Meng joked that the men in Ice Fantasy are responsible for being pretty while the women are responsible for the fighting.
- Feng Shao Feng had the most number of scenes as the main protagonist. As his cast mates from the Ice and Fire Clans wrapped filming, Feng Shao Feng sighed, "Even the horses have finished filming, I'm still here."
- Aside from being the main character, Feng Shao Feng also worked behind the scenes as one of the producers.
