Synopsis and Plot Summary
Set during the Republic of China, it tells a series of stories among several big families involved in the fight to obtain a natural treasure known as longqi.
A national treasure has been the cause of several bloody cases in the capital. According to unofficial history, this is a collection of the treasures Qin Shihuang confiscated from the six kingdoms. In this generation, the head of the Qin family is upright and patriotic, and all of his four children have grown up. A hundred years ago, the ancestor of the Qin family and his junior Ye Yuantu were court officials. Ye Yuantu's greed for the national treasure resulted in his family's death while the Qin family was also wrongfully blamed.
Zhou Tianqi, a descendant of the Ye family, colludes with Sun Dahai, a Beiiyang dignitary, in plotting to take the treasure for themselves. In order to obtain information, it was arranged for the Lu father and daughter to open a pavilion and befriend the Qi family. Meanwhile, Japanese spies have established a chamber of commerce that has relied on its military backing to steal and seize. Its president and his son are both cruel and violent. Jin Sanye, the leader of the Porter Clan, swears loyalty to the Qin family. In the past ten years, the stories surrounding the treasures has continued on.
