Synopsis and Plot Summary

It tells the story of Jiang Yunfan who has demon blood running in his veins. After uncovering the truth about the past, he joins hands with Tang Yurou, Long You and Xiao Man to maintain peace in the pugilistic world.

Twenty years ago, demon god Jiang Shili (Geng Le) was sealed within the blood jade of the Nuwa goddess. Twenty years later, he reappears in the world to take vengeance on those who wronged him. The four great clans continue their search for the demon king's son whereabouts in order to eliminate him.

Jiang Yunfan (Elvis Han) is the godson of the leader of Kuangfeng Fortress. He has simple wants, to fulfill his dream of becoming a bandit who robs the rich to help the poor. However, he exhibits shocking powers when fighting a demonic creature. As it turns out, he is the demon king's only son.

After learning the truth, Jiang Yunfan faces a big dilemma. If the blood jade is destroyed thus freeing the demon king, Tang Yurou will die from the jade fragments in her body. If Jiang Yunfan does not release his father, then he will perish in captivity.

Fun Facts

• Filming took place in Hengdian World Studios, Yandang Mountains and Xian Du.
• It was dubbed as the Chinese Paladin spinoff in 2013 but production was halted due to various reasons. Jiang Jinfu was originally supposed to play the main role which went to Elvis Han later on. Joe Cheng is a fan of the Chinese Paladin games and played it when he was in high school. He said that landing the role fulfilled his dream of 20 years.
• To transform into the fat Tang Yurou, Gulnezer Bextiyar would take 6-7 hours to put on and remove the makeup.
• It is Wu Jianfei's first costume drama.
• Guo Xiaoting who acted in Chinese Paladin 3 had no hesitations about accepting another xianxia project because she has worked with Tangren many times before.
• Gulnezer Bextiyar revealed during the presscon that Elvis Han often sang on set. Even back at the hotel, she would still hear him singing.
