My Amazing Boyfriend

A story about a mutant who is woken unexpectedly after sleeping for one hundred years and falls into a romance with a second rate actress while trying to investigate how he died.

Due to a car accident, Tian Jing Zhi (Janice Wu) accidentally wakes Xue Ling Qiao (Kim Tae Hwan) who has been asleep for a century. He moves into her house by hook or by crook and is revealed to have inexplicable powers that are shrouded in mystery along with his identity. Tian Jing Zhi pretends like she doesn't care, but she's actually desperate to drive out the monster that has moved in. Unexpectedly, their hateful relationship soon turns amicable as they fall for each other, yet things don't come easy as a conspiracy from a long time ago begins to resurface.

• Filming took place in Xiamen, China.
• It is a Huace Film & TV production.
• The story is loosely inspired by the hit Korean drama You From Another Star but instead of an alien is a mutant and instead of an A-list actress is a second-rate actress.
• Shui Qian Mo who wrote the source novel also wrote the screenplay in collaboration with Wang Xiong Cheng. The novel was published in October 2015 and tells a love story between an actress so riddled with bad luck that she had seven relationships that were so short that she never had her first kiss and her five-hundred year old, amnesiac and black-bellied boyfriend.
• Shui Qian Mo never finished high school and yet she gained success as a novelist at a young age with many popular works under her name.
• It marks the acting debut for Korean model Kim Tae Hwan. He tried his best to use Chinese to communicate with his co-stars and had a lot of help from Janice Wu who became his quasi language teacher on set.
• It racked up over 10 million views after the first day of its premiere which is quite good for your average web drama with no big names.
• There is a season two starring Mike D'Angelo and Esther Yu.
