Synopsis and Plot Summary
A story of enduring romance between the white snake spirit and the man that she loves.
The white snake spirit, Bai Suzhen (Ju Jingyi), takes the sweet dew of goodness and purity from Guanyin’s jade bottle and activates her vital energy. Practicing magical arts on Mount Emei, she becomes immortal. After transforming into human form, and with further instructions from Guanyin, she enters the mortal world to experience human society. She then meets and falls for Xu Xian (Alan Yu), composing a love story that touches millions.

- It has acquired the rights to the 1992 TV series New Legend of Madame White Snake starring Angie Chiu and Cecilia Yip.
- Cecilia Yip and Maggie Chen from the 1992 version guest star. Cecilia Yi who played Xu Xian plays Xu Xian's mother.
- Its March 27 premiere date was suddenly postponed less than a week before premiere citing scheduling issues. The advanced screening to be held on March 24, 2019 has also been cancelled.
- Filming took place in Wuxi.
- Filming lasted four months beginning on March 7, 2018 and ending on July 3, 2018.
