Synopsis and Plot Summary
A story that follows Miao Qian Qian, a noble lady whose family is massacred due to a conspiracy set by her own fiancee and her journey towards rebirth after being rescued by Xiao Qing Feng.
The planet Phoenix has turned into an icy wasteland due to the prevalence of war that has destroyed all forms of life. As the sacred maiden, Sang Sang escapes with the heavenly tear in tow and is being pursued by Gui Jiao and Jiao Tong. She escapes to a planet called earth during a time when the land was split into the North and South. On the day of her arrival, five rays of light descended from the heavens, starting a saying that whoever can find the treasures can conquer the world. She meets and falls in love with the King of Lan and bears him a fifth son named Xiao Feng Qing. To escape her enemies, she also gives the heavenly tear to Miao Qian Qian, a five year old girl that she saved from drowning.
Much of the story takes place twenty years later. After Miao Qian Qian's family is massacred in her home state of Li, she is rescued by Xiao Qing Feng while she was drifting at sea. He presents her to his brother Xiao Qing Ming and she becomes a concubine bearing the name Nie Wu Shuang, thus beginning a story revolving around her rise to power.

- Filming took place in Hengdian World Studios and Inner Mongolia.
- It brings a unique mix of history, science fiction and palace politics.
- The three main leads Claudia Wang, Joe Cheng and Allen Ting come from Mainland China, Taiwan and Hong Kong respectively.
- Allen Ting is also one of the producers.
- Joe Cheng said that he liked wearing an armor even though it was heavy and he was sweating bullets under the scorching sun while filming. But it looked good, so it didn't matter to him anymore.
- On November 8, 2017, the ensemble cast attended a presscon to thank fans as the show has reached 1.5 billion views on iQiYi.
