Synopsis and Plot Summary
Yang Yu Huan (Fan Bing Bing) earns the adulation of the Tang Dynasty Emperor (Leon Lai) after he sees her in a mesmerizing dance. Concubine Wu is worried at the consequences so she schemes to have Yu Huan marry her son Shou Wang (Wu Zun). Yu Huan is a woman whose passion is in the arts yet the politics surrounding her threaten her very existence.

- Directors Shi Qing, Zhang Yimou and Tian Zhuang Zhuang collaborate to create Lady in the Dynasty, a period film about Yang Yu Huan. She is a historical figure widely known as one of the four beauties of China and her story is often retold because of Emperor Tang Guo Zong's undying devotion towards her.
