Synopsis and Plot Summary
It tells the legendary life of Hua Tuo who loved the people, fought against the powerful and devoted his life to the pursuit of medicine.
Wars were rife during the Three Kingdoms period. Hua Tuo (Mickey He) is a young doctor from Bozhou who lives a carefree life treating patients in his hometown. After he miraculously brings back the official's daughter Mingxin (Li Yixiao) from the brink of death, Hua Tuo earns the reputation as divine physician and also forges an indissoluble bond with Mingxin.
In order to develop an anesthetic to treat Mingxin's eyes, Hua Tuo embarks on a journey to search for medicine. At the capital, he encounters the valiant Guan Yu (Yu Yankai), the traitor Cao Cao (Wang Jianxin) and bears witness to the wickedness of politics. Hua Tuo loses his beloved Mingxin to another man. At a time of great sorrow, Hua Tuo becomes enlightened after a hermit points him a way out. He becomes determined to become a doctor who can treat the person, the heart and the nation.
