Synopsis and Plot Summary
Chapter 1: Lu Pan Zhu Jing Lan (Liu Dong) and Zhu Qi Ting (Ke Jia Yan) are sisters in love with one man (Qiao Zhen Yu). They have a close call with death, yet the judge from the underworld decides to give them a second chance. Chapter 2: Qian Kun Xin Fang Ping (Chen Long) is a constable investigating a series of mysterious cases and he connects the dots to find that it may all be related to an entryway into the underworld. He ends up saving Xie Ling Er (Han Xue), a demon from another realm. Chapter 3: Heng Niang Heng Niang (Li Jin Ming) is the wife of county magistrate Hong Tian Fu (Lin You Wei) who cannot accept her husband falling for another woman. Chapter 4: Lian Suo Yang Yu Wei (Wang Can) is a general who fears no one, not even ghosts. He buys an estate only to realize that it is haunted yet he finds out that it is all the handiwork of Lian Suo (Hu Ke) who purposely tries to scare people away. Chapter 5: Ye Sheng Ye Cheng Fei (Cao Yong Lian) is an imperial doctor who escapes with the crown prince in tow to save his life. After the death of the emperor, he does everything in his power to ensure that the crown prince takes his rightful place on the throne. Chapter 6: Lv Yi Nv Yu Jing (Li Zong Han) saves a mantis demon who marries him out of gratitude yet their blissful marriage is turned upside down due the appearance of enemies both old and new.

- Liaozhai New Compilation takes inspiration from the classic text called Strange Stories from a Chinese Studio by Pu Songling. It is separated into six chapters, putting a fresh twist into the fantasy tales from the past. The series premiered on May 5, 2015 on Zhejiang TV.
